THE AFRICA NEVER DIE:



*Dissolves Kidney Stones, Prevents Heart Failure, Controls Hypertension, Heals Peptic Ulcer, Stops Convulsion, 

Commonly known as Resurrection plant, Never Die plant, Air plant, Miracle leaf, or Life plant; Bryophyllum pinnatum belongs to the plant family Crassulaceae
  • It is known as Odaa Opue in Igbo,

  • Ewe abamoda or Odundun in Yoruba, and

  • Dabusi in China.

  • To the Edo people of Western Nigeria, it is called Danweshin or Ekpokpo;

  • Afiayo in Efik;

  • Umbu in Ijo-Izon.

Africa Never Die  is a medicinally important plant. Leaves of Africa Never Die possess flavonoid, phenolic compounds, alkaloids, terpenoids, carbohydrates, minerals and glycosides.
When lightly roasted the leaves are used against cancer, inflammations. A mixture of leaf juice with coconut oil is used as a remedy for migraines and headaches. 
Indigenous African people heat the leaves and apply them topically to boils and skin ulcersIn South Pacific countries,  a leaf infusion is used to treat broken bones and internal bruises. They also apply an  Infusion of leaves and stem in cold water for heartburn, urethritis, fevers, and for all sorts of respiratory conditions.
 The root infusion is also used in epilepsy.  Africa Never Die is  used  for treating cancer symptoms. Leaves of Africa Never Die express their anti-nociceptive, anti-inflammatory and anti-diabetic, antihypertensive activity very generously.
Its  immuno-suppressive effect, anti-tumor activity is not in doubt at all.  The Anti-ulcer potentials of  this herb is acknowledged by practitioners. Africa Never Die enhances sleep in cancer patients.
For the avoidance of doubt a conservative scientific research published in the April 2015 edition of the Journal of Integrated Cancer Therapy and titled “Sleep Quality Improves During Treatment With Bryophyllum pinnatum: An Observational Study on Cancer Patients” concluded: “Bryophyllum pinnatum (Africa Never Die) may be a suitable treatment for sleep problems of cancer patients. Controlled, randomized clinical trials of the use of Bryophyllum pinnatum in sleep disorders are urgently needed.”
Further excursion into Africa Never Die reveals its efficacy in reversing the attack of epilepsy. It has been applied over centuries to bring the onslaught of epilepsy to a halt.
Africa Never Die is also very effective in tackling long standing cough which has defied other treatments. Its properties get to the roots of stubborn strains of bacteria and completely eradicating it.
The leaf sap is given to children with convulsion and epilepsy. My beloved parents applied it on me when Convulsion was my bedmate. It was such a pleasure sleeping nicely after a dose.
Well, if you do have inexplicable feverish conditions from time to time, simply  take a leaf of Africa Never Die, place it over open fire lightly for a while so it becomes tender. Place it nicely over the forehead and let it stay on its own. Try to spark a hearty discussion. Before you know it the fever has scrammed. The same thing goes for headache.
They are tied on the head for headache.  Mash a few fresh leaves and inserted so of the drops in the nostrils for this cure of belligerent headache.
put some drops of Africa Never Die into my ears when I I have earache and ophthalmia. After a while it clears off letting me have a peace of mind.
Again instill the leave sap, prepared preferably from leaves passed over a fire into the nose, ear and eye for ear, nose and eye troubles, and in dermal conditions.
The leaf-mash alone or compounded with palm oil or dyara or shea butter may be used for wound, burns, abscesses, ulcers, swellings, rheumatic pains.
Abdominal poultices are used for more deep seated intestinal pain. Poultices are also used on cuts to stop bleeding.
After delivery, the mother can take Africa Never Die to relieve pains and quick evacuation of amnionic fluid. Ladies having challenges with their ovarian cycles had better resort to Africa Never Die. The earlier the better.
Drop leaf sap in the nose before going to sleep to prevents snoring. This condition can cause a lot of disharmony. Africa Never Die clears up the airways and relaxes the nasal muscles so they resonate and not sing discordant tunes during sleep.
